News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

BASKETBALL

This Week in Auburn Hoops? Yup! Drew weighed in on the state of Auburn basketball as we're in the 11th week of the season. This was before last night's LSU game.

Speaking of, hey, that was fun. Auburn won their 11th game of the season - which is already equaling last season's total and closing in on Bruce's first year without counting the SEC Tournament run - and gave Bruce Pearl the 500th win of his career. They defeated LSU 78-74 in Auburn Arena.

EQUESTRIAN

Auburn was honored at the United States Equestrian Foundation, recently. The Tigers won the 2016 national championship and are one of the dominant programs in the sport.

SOFTBALL

Preseason polls are always fun. The Tigers were picked to finish 2nd behind perennial favorite Florida.

FOOTBALL

Do you need an offensive coordinator update? Well, we've got one for you. Sort of. I published it in the middle of the night last night. For all I know, by the time this is published there will be an update that negates all of what I said.

Just prior to the 2015 season, I wrote about Phil Steele discussing the potential for a dreadful season for the Tigers due to returning among the fewest lettermen in all of FBS. Well, he was right. Now, Auburn is poised to return the most starters they have in the last dozen years. That's starters, not letterman, but it's one of the many reasons to feel Auburn's 2017 season has a lot of promise even before it begins.

How does JF3 feel about Jarrett Stidham joining the QB race? Read and find out. I'm sure he has confidence in himself, but it's hard to see him beating out White and Stidham unless he improves considerably this offseason.

How did the former Tigers still playing in the NFL playoffs fare? Well, click and find out!
