The big day is finally here, Auburn takes on Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl tonight at 7:30 CT. It’s been a long up and down season for the Tigers, punctuated by injuries to its leading offensive players. However, quarterback Sean White and running back, Kamryn are expected to be back to their old selves.
A season which began with so many questions after puzzling play calling in the Tiger losses to No. 2 Clemson and Texas A&M, puzzled all the prognosticators with the Tigers getting the chance to play for Sugar.
The game will likely be the most viewed of the bowl season coming like it does as the last bowl game for the year before the national championship game is played next week. A win and or a good performance in the Sugar Bowl can show a national audience that Auburn is still a top tier program while a loss … well we’re not thinking about a loss here.
As Acid Reign wrote last week the game has been previewed and analyzed to death. Still there remains the questions that inquiring minds want to know:
Can Auburn’s vaunted defense contain a pair of running backs who have combined for close to 2,000 yards while keeping in check the Sooners’ Heisman finalist quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Dede Westbrook? And just as importantly, can the Tiger offense return to its pre injury/mid season form against the Big 12 Champions?
If the answers to those questions are positive; then a season that looked so dim back in September will go down as one of Auburn’s Sweetest season’s ever.
