Daniel Carlson has been named to the Lou Groza Award watch list for the second consecutive year. The Grosa is given to the nation’s top collegiate place-kicker.
Carlson was a finalists for the award last season. As a sophomore, he led Auburn in scoring with 102 points and was the only kicker in the country to kick more than four field goals of 51 yards.
The All-American sent 49 of his 69 kickoffs into the end zone for no returns in 2015 and he hit 23 of his 27 field goal attempts.
Head coach Gus Malzahn is expecting another great year from Daniel, “He’s one of the best kickers in college football,” said Gus. “And (he) will be a big weapon for us.”
