Freshman Reilly Shaw broke a 29-year old Auburn rookie record in the men’s 3000m steeplechase en route to a fourth place finish Friday at the SEC Outdoor Championships. Shaw’s time of 8:47.81 trimmed off nearly 15 seconds of his previous best and bettered Brett Roby’s 1987 time of 8:50.45.
