News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

TRACK & FIELD

The men earned an excellent finish this weekend at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Tigers finished 5th overall for their first appearance in the Top 10 in a few years. Congrats to Coach Spry and his team!

FOOTBALL

The Tigers lost some big pieces of the defense with Carl Lawson and Montravious Adams departing, but the coaches are expecting a few of the young guys to step right in and contribute. See which incoming freshmen they're talking most about.

Auburn didn't receive a commitment during Big Cat Weekend. Does that have Gus Malzahn worried? Nope. In fact, he said it was the best Big Cat Weekend he's been a part of.

What does Auburn need to do to "win the summer" in the eyes of the head coach? Find that out, as well!

Public season tickets sold out in just a few hours for the upcoming season. I think it's safe to say that there's a lot of excitement on the Plains for this year's offense. I'm just waiting for single-game tickets to go on sale so I can snag some for the opener. I may need anywhere from 2 to 8 for that one. Don't underestimate Georgia Southern's fans when it comes to traveling, either. They'll bring as many or more as most SEC teams.

I get some of the restrictions on transfers, but you still always hate to see a kid being denied the ability to go where he wants. From the sounds of it, Antwuan Jackson, Jr really wanted to go to South Carolina. That really makes you wonder why Ohio State was included in the list of blocked schools, too, but his appeal of the decision was denied.
