Bryce Brown's career-high 31 leads Auburn basketball past Norfolk State

Bryce Brown's hot start and a strong shooting performance in the second half led Auburn to a dominant season-opening win.

Brown scored 23 of his career-high 31 points in the first half and Auburn shot just under 68 percent from the field in the second half of a 102-74 win over Norfolk State at Auburn Arena on Friday.

Jared Harper and Desean Murray each scored 13 points and Mustapha Heron and Anfernee McLemore each added 10 for Auburn.

It was Auburn's largest margin of victory since a 117-72 win over Coastal Carolina on Dec. 15, 2016.

The Tigers were without Austin Wiley and Danjel Purifoy, who remain out indefinitely due to their connection with the federal case against former assistant coach Chuck Person.
