When Auburn’s Marlon Davidson returned from injury to start against Missouri Saturday he said, “I’m back and ready to play ball, ready to have fun like I was.” And the defensive lineman made that known to all, on Missouri’s opening possession.
On third and five, he hit Mizzou running back Ish Witter for a loss of four yards. He also made a heads up play in the second quarter setting up an Auburn touchdown when he returned a fumble recovery 33 yards to the Missouri 20 yard line.
” I’m never the type of person to give up on a play [and] I just took off and went and got the ball,” Davidson said. “Just making a good play at a good time.”
The SEC recognized his “good play” today when the league named Davidson The SEC Defensive-Lineman of The Week.
In the three game he’s played in this year, the sophomore has made 11 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble and the one fumble recovery.
Congratulations Marlon and War Eagle!
