A Battle of Eagles!

Auburn vs. Georgia Southern, Open Thread.

     War Eagle, everybody! This evening marks Auburn’s opening game of the 2017 college football season! In the friendly confines of Jordan Hare Stadium, Auburn will take on the Georgia Southern Eagles. This game will kick off at 6:30 PM Central Time, and will be televised on the SEC Network.

     It was not a typical year for Georgia Southern, last season. A season with 5 wins and 7 losses was quite the come-down for this team, and most of the offensive coaching staff was let go. This year, the Eagles hope to return to their option-running roots, and to give teams like Auburn fits. Last year for Auburn, it was a season that started slow, then picked up a lot of steam. Then, the wheels came off in November, as injuries piled up. This season, the Tigers hope to be deeper, and to start off on a better note.

     Weather should be just about perfect for this game. Dry air is in place over the area, and skies should be mostly clear. Kickoff temperature will be around 80 degrees.

     As always, feel free to join in and enjoy this thread. I’ll be here hopefully by the second quarter and jump right into a play by play, and some fired-up commentary. This is what it’s all about, folks! College football is back! War Eagle, and beat Georgia Southern!
