Game week.
It’s here.
We made it, everyone.
Of course, it wouldn’t be right to have approached game week with as few bumps as we got on the football field, and with the troubling allegations from the softball program, it’s tough to feel super excited about the the upcoming week.
After the original report from ESPN, Auburn issued a lengthier statement regarding the story.

There’s obviously more to the story, but we’ll have to see how the investigation plays out.
As for the action from the football field, there was a ton of material from around the web regarding Auburn over the weekend. Let’s run it down...
First up, game prep has started for Georgia Southern and their triple option offense — an offense that beat Florida a few years ago, and nearly upset Georgia as well. It’s not the easiest opening opponent to deal with.

As for how Auburn can handle the Eagles, big plays seem to be the bugaboo for GSU, and one guy on the Tiger offense is perfectly capable of hitting a few of those.

As far as defending against the triple option goes, learn some more about the defensive line and the secondary for Auburn, with Byron Cowart’s growth and move inside, and a couple of young guns helping out in the back end.

And the only real glimpses we’ve seen from Auburn’s offense came in the A-Day game, and it looked pretty good. I’d be satisfied if we saw a ton of that this year, but how about the particulars of what Chip Lindsey wants to do?
