Link sAUsage - Actual Tigers, TuneIn, & Tubs on the Tube

July 20th, 2017

We’re 45 days out from kickoff, now fully in *late* July, so here’s what’s happening this Thursday!

  • Auburn, along with Clemson, LSU, and Missouri (all teams that Auburn will meet this season) is helping to save actual tigers in the wild. The plan is to monitor wild tiger populations with the goal of doubling the total number of animals in the next five years. All told, this is a pretty cool initiative, and something that Auburn is obligated to participate in, given that they’ll be committing atrocities against the tigers of Clemson, LSU, and Missouri on the football field this fall.
  • We’re smack dab in the middle of the SEC Network’s Auburn Takeover! It began at 11 o’clock CST last night with the 2013 SEC Championship victory over Missouri, and right now you can tune in to catch the 1986 Iron Bowl before four other football games air later today. Check the full listings here!
  • Former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville will be part of ESPN’s college football coverage this year! He’ll serve as a game analyst, but his broadcast partners have yet to be announced. Tubs broke the news from his beach house on the Gulf Coast yesterday. It’s an interesting move, especially for a guy who’s been very outspoken about ESPN’s influence in years past, and not in a particularly positive way.
  • The Auburn Sports Network, along with Auburn athletics, will launch a 24-hour TuneIn channel complete with live game broadcasts and other programming that includes classic games and produced material.
  • The Barbasol Championship gets underway today at Grand National. Yesterday, Gus Malzahn, Bruce Pearl, and many others took part in the Pro-Am, and if you’d like to follow along today, here’s the full leaderboard (although we’d encourage you to go attend the event in person).
  • And finally, CFN is ranking the 20 national champions since their website began. They haven’t gotten to 2010 yet, and I would encourage you not to look at today’s entry (2007 LSU) unless you’d like to relive that awful finish in Baton Rouge.

Happy Thursday, and as always, War Eagle!
