The “War Eagle” from WAPT in Jackson, Miss had a whatever vibe, but still counts.
Williams got an unexpected “War Eagle” in stereo at KTBC Fox in Austin, with not one but two anchors sympathetic enough to the Tiger cause to not only know, but kind of nail the battle cry.
The dude on River City Live in Jacksonville kind of thought Auburn over Yale was a no-brainer.
“I can get down with that. Yale is an awesome school, very prestigious. But I want to have a little fun in college, so Auburn football, some sports…”
But a Bama grad producer at at WABC in New York wasn’t having it, countering Williams’ essay with one of his own.
