News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

BASEBALL

Auburn has a coaching void to fill with Brad Bohannon departing to be the head coach at Alabama. According to the Montgomery Advertiser, Butch is looking at three primary candidates to take the spot.

Can we talk about how asinine this tweet is?

Seriously, even forgetting the mess Butch inherited after the two year Sunny Golloway experiment, he's only had two years of his own and has Auburn heading in the right direction. Sure, the Tigers slipped down the stretch, but we were ranked in the Top 5 at one point and looked the part of a Top 5 team. I also want to know who the idiots are who say they don't want Butch back. Have you SEEN the players he has coming in? Have you seen the pitching talent being developed? Tom Freakin' Glavine entrusted his son to Butch Thompson to be his pitching coach. That says a lot to me right there.

BASKETBALL

247Sports has a good roll-up of the basketball visitors who were on campus last week. There were a lot of really big names in town.

FOOTBALL

Auburn Undercover is reporting on some more moves within the administrative side of the football house. These all result from the departure of two off-field assistants a few weeks back.

In recruiting news, one of Auburn's top targets for the 2018 cycle decomitted from the school he was previously committed to (Penn State) last night. It was one that has been expected for a while. It's going to be quite the fight to ultimately land him, though.

Pre-season Heisman Odds are worth less than single-ply public restroom toilet paper, but Jarrett Stidham's odds have seen a bit of a rise, lately.
