News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

First, let me begin by wishing my mother a Happy Birthday! My parents are coming to visit here in San Antonio this weekend, so I'm looking forward to that.

SURVIVAL GUIDE

The offseason is not fun. Drew Crowson is going to put out a weekly guide for us on ways you can survive the offseason. It's going to be especially important once baseball and softball are done for the year, too.

BASEBALL

It's been 20 years since the unbelievable David Ross home run to beat Florida State in a Regional that made Ross such an Auburn hero. Florida fans love to say they have more claim to him than we do, but we will always have that moment and how much Ross obviously still loves Auburn.

Auburn played #1 seed Florida last night very late in the SEC Tournament. By "very late," I mean the game started at 9:45 pm Central. That's late. It finally ended at close to 1 am Central as Auburn fought back from a deficit and fell just short in the rally to lose 5-4 to Florida. The Tigers will now face the loser of the Arkansas / Mississippi State game. When that game will take place is anybody's guess at this point.

GOLF

The men open Regional play for the NCAA Tournament tomorrow. This is their 6th consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament, which makes them one of the better programs in the nation over the course of the last half-decade.

FOOTBALL

Tre Williams is the man at the linebacker position this year. That was really the case last year, too, but now he's really ready to take the role of quarterback of the defense by the horns.

If Cam Newton had to do pushups when he screwed up, you better believe that Jarrett Stidham is going to have to do them, too.

Pat Dye has more words on where Auburn fits in the SEC and the Iron Bowl.

In former Tiger news, Duke Williams has resurfaced in the Canadian Football League. Hopefully, he can find a career up there and maybe work his way back into the NFL. He has amazing talent.
