The Tigers and the Tigers face off in Baton Rouge.
Auburn hits the road for the final time in the regular season today as they travel to Baton Rouge to face LSU in a three game series that begins Thursday evening and runs through Sunday. Auburn will be looking to bounce back from four bad losses in a row and get back into the Regional hosting discussion with a series win against one of the top teams in the conference year in and year out.
The pitching line-up will be a bit different for this weekend as Auburn will throw Andrew Mitchell out against LSU in Game 1 Thursday night. He'll be followed by Keegan Thompson and Casey Mize in games 2 and 3. Davis Daniel will be available as a reliever and will likely work almost a joint game with either Mize or Thompson similar to the way Cole Lipscomb was used early in the season.

As you can see from the stats Kevin has so generously provided in his always great infographic (which also contains the "How to Watch" info), this is a fairly even series just in terms of the stats. The part that has to worry Auburn fans is the edge that LSU being at home in Alex Box Stadium gives them.
If there's one batter for LSU whose name you need to remember and dread when he comes to the plate, it's junior Greg Deichmann. He can hit the ball a long way. And I mean a looooooong way. He may not be on MSU's Brent Rooker level in terms of number of home runs, but he's not far back and he's got a cannon for a bat.
For the Auburn Tigers, we have to hope that Daniel Robert is healthy enough to provide his power and hope that Luke Jarvis may be able to go at some point this weekend. Jarvis - one of Auburn's better hitters before taking a few weeks off with some health issues - travelled with the team, but it's still unlikely that he plays. As good as he is in the field, Will Holland is more than capable of replacing him, there. At the plate, though, he's definitely a hard one to replace. The Tigers need his bat in the line up very soon to aid Jonah Todd, Connor Davis, Josh Anthony, and a hopefully healthy Daniel Robert.
Auburn needs to get back in the win column in this series. They really need to win the series in order to make sure they're not going to need an SEC Tournament run to make the NCAA Tournament at this point. We've fallen a long way in the past week, but the postseason is still there in sight and a run is still very possible if we can get everyone healthy in the next week or two.
