News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Yes, it's late. I'm not sorry. I have today off as a "training holiday," so I knew I'd have the morning to do this and I didn't feel like taking up my time last night to do it.

BASEBALL

Game 1 of the Tennessee series is already complete. Things got a little stressful in the bottom of the 9th, but the Tigers pulled out the 3-2 victory. It was sparked by yet another brilliant Casey Mize pitching performance and some timely Luke Jarvis hitting.

To find out information on the rest of the games here's our preview.

SOFTBALL

Kasey Cooper is the first player in Auburn Softball history to be a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award. To read the specifics about what the award is all about and stands for, check out the official site's article on Cooper and her accomplishments.

Emily Spain is taking a "leave of absence" from the team. I'm sure plenty of people will connect dots to rumors and innuendo, but Clint Myers has denied that this has anything to do with Corey Myers' departure from the team. I'm not going to offer an opinion one way or another because I really don't have any clue what's gone on.

The Tigers will take on Missouri this weekend in Auburn. First pitch is tonight at 6:00 pm Central. Here's the official site's preview. Ours will be up a little later today.

FOOTBALL

Just because spring practice is over you didn't think we'd be done with the "5 questions" type thing, did you? AL.com is looking back at their 5 biggest questions they posed before the Spring. And, not to leave it at that, what are the 5 biggest questions of the offseason?

The offense is getting the most talk, but ESPN.com say you should be paying attention to Auburn's defense after its impressive spring, as well.

You have to have an account, but WarRoom Eagle's latest Xs and Os post on new wrinkles of Chip Lindsey's offense is up at AuburnUndercover.

In the same vein, Justin Ferguson broke down the debut of Chip Lindsey's offense and Jarrett Stidham at QB at A-Day.
