Now that's more like it!
The Tigers had to come from behind a lot this weekend against the Bulldogs, but they still got the job done!
Game 1: 4-2 Auburn
The Bulldogs got on the board first in Game 1, scoring 2 runs in the top half of the 3rd inning. It didn't take long for Auburn to strike back, though. The Tigers added 2 in the bottom half of the inning after a bases loaded walk by Carlee Wallace scored one run and then an error on an Alyssa Rivera hit scored Victoria Draper. The Tigers took the lead in the next inning when a Victoria Draper single and a throwing error by MSU allowed Whitney Jordan and Bree Fornis to score.
That was all she wrote for the scoring in this one. Kaylee Carlson pitched seven innings - only allowing the 3rd inning 2-run homer, 6 hits, walking 1, and striking out 6 in 7 complete innings for the win.
Game 2: 6-2 Auburn
Saturday's game was even more dramatic for the Tigers. Kaylee Carlson hit the mound again for the second game in a row and again pitched a complete game. Her stat line was once again 6 hits allowed, but this time two of them were home runs in the 3rd and 4th innings that let the Bulldogs build a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers got one back in the 5th when Alyssa River hit a ball up the middle that scored Sydney Waldrop. Unfortunately, she tried to stretch it to 2 bases and was thrown out to end the inning before Carlee Wallace could score to tie it up.
The Tigers went into the bottom of the 7th needing at least one run to extend the game. They got just that with the first batter when Casey McCrackin launched an absolute bomb over the left-field fence to tie the game. That proved to be just the spark the Tigers needed.

KK Crocker followed McCrackin with a single. Victoria Draper did the same. Kasey Cooper came to the plate with a chance to win it and drew a walk. That put tiny little Carlee Wallace at the plate with the bases juiced and no outs. Wallace did just what she's done since she's been at Auburn as a freshman: she walked it off. This time with a grand slam.

Game 3: 6-3 Auburn
The Tigers got the first runs in Sunday's final game between the two. They got it in a big way, too, as Kasey Cooper hit a 2-run shot that vaulted her into the lead in the SEC's all-time standings for RBIs. She'd pick up another one in the 2nd inning on a bases-loaded groundout. With three games still to play in the regular season, she's 9th all-time in NCAA history with 266 RBIs.
Auburn's defense also set a record today with a program-record 43rd double play. That leads the NCAA this year, too.
Auburn put two more on the board and let Mississippi State get 3 before it was all over. Makayla Martin pitched the first 6 innings of the game in her first appearance since her suspension two weeks ago. Haley Fagan also got back in the action with a start at shortstop. She didn't get a hit on the day, but she did do pretty well in the field.
It was also Senior Day on the Plains as the Tigers honored the best Senior class in school history. They have by far more wins than any other Tigers team in school history.
Way Forward
Only one series remains before the SEC Tournament. That's a trip to face #13 Alabama in Tuscaloosa. This year's SEC Tournament will be held in Knoxville, TN. After that? Auburn is almost sure to host an SEC Regional. It remains to be seen whether they will be a national seed and host a Super Regional should they make it that far. A lot rides on their performance next weekend and in the SEC Tournament before we figure that out.
