News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

AUBURN UNIVERSITY

The school has named the 19th President, and it's the name that was floating around message boards for the last week or so: Dr. Steven Leath of Iowa State University.

BASEBALL

D1baseball.com, one of - if not THE - premier college baseball sites wrote about Auburn's sweep of Florida and how the team is working together in the dugout and helping the coaches. It's easy to see why this team looked so good against Florida last weekend.

They weren't the only ones. BaseballAmerica.com also wrote about the Tigers' weekend sweep. There's even a shoutout to some of this site's original founders who watch every game from the top of the parking deck.

See the official site's notebook on the weekend that is now up. The Tigers are on the road tonight for the first time this season to face Georgia Tech in Atlanta. It will be interesting to see how they take their first road trip of the season.

For his effort this weekend - which included a 4 RBI performance, one of the key bunts in Sunday's 9th inning, and some fantastic defensive work - Will Holland was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week.

The Tigers have worked their way into the national rankings this week

The NCBWA poll is normally released on a Tuesday. Since Auburn was in "27th" last week (2nd in "others receiving votes"), I'm going to guess they find their way into the Top 25 in that poll, too.

GYMNASTICS

It may have been a disappointing regular season, but the Tigers are still in the NCAA post-season. They travel to Fayetteville for the Arkansas regional. News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

SOFTBALL

The official site goes behind the numbers on the details of Kaylee Carlson's perfect game against Ohio State.

FOOTBALL

Spring Practice resumes today and will continue each week as we get closer to A-Day. SECcountry.com has some things we should be looking for as they get back at it. The first scrimmage will probably happen this weekend, so hopefully, we'll get some good stuff from that.
