News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

BASEBALL

How did the baseball team do this weekend? They did ok, I guess. If you call sweeping the series, having two pitchers combine for 16 strikeouts Saturday, Friday's starter throwing 6 strikeouts while allowing one hit and no walks, and then scoring 13 runs on Sunday "ok," that is. Read all about it, here.

BASKETBALL

Things didn't go so well against the Hawgs for the men Saturday night. The Tigers couldn't get the lid off the basket in any way, shape, form, or fashion and fell to Arkansas 68-79.

The highlight of the men's game was this kid winning $5k towards his tuition with four straight shots, including a granny shot from half-court.

The ladies, however, did a bit better. They closed out the SEC regular season with a victory over Arkansas and will get a first-round bye in next week's SEC Tournament.

SOFTBALL

Overall, it was a great weekend for the ladies. However, with a sure opportunity to take over the #1 spot on the line Sunday afternoon against James Madison, the Tigers fell in a pitchers' duel, 1-0. See our recap, here.

TENNIS

The ladies scored the highest ranked victory in the history of Auburn Women's Tennis Saturday with a defeat of 5th ranked Texas Tech to win the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic.

FOOTBALL

More "5 questions" lists! This one from AL.com. I'm going to have my own take on this a bit later this afternoon.

If you missed it, we finished up the Post-Signing Day / Pre-Spring Practice position group analysis Friday with the quarterbacks. You can go back and check out all of them in this handy story stream right here.
