News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

First, a moment of quiet remembrance for Pearl Harbor Day. Still, a day which lives in infamy.

Thank you. Now, on to the stories.

BASKETBALL

Tuco asked the question that we're all wondering. Just how good is this Auburn Basketball team, really? It's a good thing Tuco is around because it's so easy for people like me to get over-hyped about what we've seen so far.

SOCCER

The Tigers finished the season ranked 8th in the nation. They were knocked out of the NCAA Tourney by the eventual national champion. What a season for Coach Hoppa's girls.

FOOTBALL

Monday saw an update on offensive recruiting. So, of course, yesterday I had to cover the defense and Special Teams. This is really shaping up to be another great recruiting class for the Tigers. I can't wait to see how it ends. And for it to end. I really don't enjoy recruiting.

The Coaches' All-SEC team came out, yesterday, and 3 Tigers made the first team and 3 more made the second team. Most of them are fairly obvious, but perhaps you'd switch one of the first and second teamers if you didn't think too much on it.

Tony Stevens was invited to the East-West Shrine Game. That's a big honor for a guy who was in the shadows for most of his career before becoming the Tigers' leading receiver this year. And I still don't care what most say, I still say Tony deserved to be in the starting role. He had a few bad drops but overall was a great receiver this season.

ESPN gives Kevin Steele a grade of "A" as a first-year coordinator. He took the Tigers from 69th to 5th (FIFTH!!!!) in scoring defense this year. Yet he wasn't a finalist for the Broyles Award.
