College Football 2016 Week 2 TV Schedule: What to Watch

After the GREATEST OPENING WEEK EVER, we have one of the weakest weeks, ever. But here's how to watch what's on!

Following a weekend filled with bigs games between Top 25 teams and a lot of upsets, we're left with one of the first weekends in a long time in which not a single game features a matchup of ranked teams. Anticlimactic, much? But, hey, it's football!

So, let's look at what games are being played. There is no Thursday night game this week because the NFL season is starting (booooooo). But, Cam is playing (yaaaaaay) so, I guess that kinda makes up for it.

There is one ranked team playing Friday night, and that's Louisville at Syracuse. Go watch that game and cry at the sight of Lamar Jackson and knowing we were recruiting him at one point and I think the depth chart (at the time it looked like Jeremy Johnson was good for another year or two) affected (that's the proper way to use it, Alabama) his decision a bit.

Saturday's games are just... well, they're bad. So, I'm going to give you the game's I'll spend most of my time watching in each major time slot.

Early Games:

Sure, you could watch Texas A&M, Auburn's next opponent, take on Prairie View A&M, but will you really gain any information from that? No. So, I choose UCF at Michigan. I'd like to see if Scott Frost's offense can give Harbough any fits. Alternate choice would be Troy at Clemson. Troy is supposed to be much improved this season, and I want to see how they hold up against our last opponent.

Mid-afternoon Games:

It pains me to say it but check out the Georgia State vs Air Force game at 2pm Eastern just for those Air Force uniforms. They're smoking hot. After you've spent some time there, see what Western Kentucky's passing offense can do against Alabama at 3:30 on ESPN2.

Early Evening Games:

You should already be ready for Auburn if you're in town for this, but if you're sitting at home, then since I can't really find another good game, I'm going to be homerific and say watch Georgia Southern at South Alabama on ESPN3 at 7:00pm Eastern (unless you actually get the American Sports Network). Why? To see if South Alabama might be good against one of the top teams in its conference after upsetting Mississippi State and to scout the 2017 opening opponent for Auburn!

Of course, 30 minutes later you should be switching to the Auburn game if you're at home watching the games, of course. Alternatively, LSU - after struggling in Week 1 - is welcoming Jacksonville State to Baton Rouge. That has potential to be fun. Oh, and someone had the idea to put a football game in a race track. That's happening, too.

Late Night Games:

There's some good #Pac12AfterDark action in the late games. Washington State plays at Boise State, and who wants to pass up a Dread Pirate Leach game? Virginia plays at Oregon, but that one should be over by the 1st quarter since UVA lost to FCS Richmond last weekend. For pure #Pac12AfterDark, though, Texas Tech plays Arizona State at 10pm on FoxSports1.
