News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT

Jay Jacobs says his biggest concern is "doing what's right" as opposed to achieving any great longevity as Auburn's Athletic Director. Why did this topic come up? Well, primarily because Jeremy Foley is stepping down at Florida after 25 years.

105 student-athletes across all of Auburn's sporting teams earned a spot on the SEC's Spring Academic Honor Roll. I'm curious about what portion of the total number of athletes that is and how it compares with the number of total students at Auburn who would reach that same academic level, but that's just the nerd in me.

GOLF

There's been a promotion on the men's staff as Corey Maggard was promoted to Associate Head Men's Golf Coach.

FOOTBALL

AU_Jonesy continued his Auburn Football Film School series where he examines one specific big play in a big moment in Auburn history. This time, it's the Inverted Veer and how it played into the 2010 LSU game.

ESPN examines the "X-Factor" for each SEC team this season. Auburn's is a defensive player who will be so vitally important to the defense being successful, and yet we really don't talk about him all that much.

Speaking of that player, he shared a video of the defense having fun and putting in work in the offseason weight room.

AL.com's VIP is on #10, the "best cornerback," who is also a rising true sophomore. Yes, he had an offseason issue, but I doubt he misses any time.

SECcountry is on #7, the anchor of the Tigers' interior line, Big 'Ole #1. It's his senior year, and hopefully, he is a force on that interior line.

How are former Tigers doing in the CFL? See how they did in Week 1, and you can watch some of Week 2's games, tonight!
