Former Auburn swimmer selected as Rhodes Scholar finalist

A former Auburn swimmer has been selected for an opportunity to study at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Senior biomedical sciences major TJ Leon joined Auburn graduate Azeem Ahmed as the second Auburn student finalist for the Rhodes scholarship this year, the university announced Thursday. As the 2013-14 team captain, Leon was named 2014 SEC Men’s Swimming and Diving Male Scholar Athlete of the Year. He also helped the Tigers win the NCAA title in 2013 by swimming on the 200 freestyle relay team. The five-time All-American was an Olympic Trials Qualifier in 2012.

Join the Auburn Family on Nov. 1 in the Gay Street Parking Lot for the Auburn vs. Ole Miss game on the big screen. Festivities begin at 5 p.m followed by a 6 p.m kickoff. Admission is free and open to the public. This is an event for the entire family. Kids can enjoy inflatables while hot dogs and hamburgers will be available for purchase through on-site vendors. It almost couldn't have been written better. Final home match of your career against your biggest rivals and you kick the game-winning shot to win it for your team in overtime. That's exactly what happened to senior Chelsea Gandy-Cromer on Sunday when her right-footed kick just one minute into overtime against Alabama defeated the Crimson Tide, 1-0, and gave Auburn it's third Iron Bowl of Soccer win in a row and gave all the 2014 senior class a lasting memory it will never forget.

Softball. Tigers Looking Forward to 2015 As Fall Season Closes

Auburn softball's fall season came to a close last week as it completed a double-header sweep of Northwest Florida State and Columbus State, going undefeated over the eight fall games. Even though the practice load becomes less for the rest of the calendar year, second-year head coach Clint Myers and his team believe they got some quality work in over the last month as they prepared for the 2015 season.

Basketball lands two on top-100 list

SBNation.com released their pre-season top 100 players list Tuesday, and two Auburn players made the list. Coming in at 99 was senior guard K.T. Harrell , who led the Tigers in scoring in elven games last year after transferring from Virginia in 2012 and redshirting that season at Auburn. Harrell averaged 18.3 points per game last year.
